Modular belt conveyors carry bulk or packaged product on an interlocking plastic belt rather than a continuous one. The practical advantages are repairability and hygiene: a damaged section is replaced module by module instead of re-belting the whole run, and the open construction drains and cleans in a way a solid belt does not.
