Shrink wrapping is where film cost and changeover time meet. The machines MEPA supplies were developed specifically around handling thinner film and lighter bottles — the direction the whole beverage industry has moved in — while keeping total adaptability to different pack formats, short changeover times and low energy consumption.
Electronic product selection, film cutting and welding are patented. A handle applicator can be integrated ahead of the shrink module, with reel storage outside the machine so tape and cardboard reels can be exchanged without opening it up.
Configuration follows the pack rather than the other way round: film only, flat pad and film, or tray and film, on single, double or triple track. A combined machine is also available that processes both wrap-around cartons and trays, with or without film, if the line has to produce both.
