Accumulation is what stops one machine stopping the whole line. A buffer between two machines absorbs a short stop upstream or downstream instead of passing it on, and the difference between a line with the right accumulation and one without it is measured in output, not in comfort.
MEPA supplies a wide range of accumulation systems designed to the plant: the product being handled, the line dynamics and the specification the customer sets. Rotary tables are produced for both in-line running and accumulation, dimensioned to the products and the plant dynamics.
Which type suits a line depends on what the buffer has to protect against and whether product order must be preserved. FIFO matters wherever the product has a date code or a shelf life; a decompression table matters where the problem is pressure rather than time.
Buffers that absorb micro-stops, keep upstream machines running and raise overall line efficiency.
A well-sized buffer is one of the cheapest ways to increase line efficiency: when a downstream machine stops, containers accumulate instead of stopping the filler.
Every conveying project starts from your layout, containers and target speeds.
